Jeep Wrangler 392 Hemi
After a notable absence from last year’s LA Auto Show, Camp Jeep made a triumphant return as thousands of automotive enthusiasts experienced the legendary capability of Jeep vehicles firsthand. Gordinier Group’s precision drivers guided nearly 30,000 attendees through an engineered off-road course demonstrating a range of Trail Rated features that define the Jeep lineup.
Gordinier Group’s Team provided expert commentary throughout each run, educating riders about specific Trail Rated capabilities being showcased at each obstacle. From the ground clearance displayed during stair crawling segments to the maneuverability exhibited in tight, banked turns, the course highlighted the engineering that makes Jeep vehicles capable of conquering extreme terrain.
The dynamic course, designed and built by our partners at George P Johnson, challenged vehicles and thrilled passengers with a series of purpose-built obstacles. Participants experienced impressive articulation and traction control systems as Jeeps navigated steep grades and uneven terrain. Making its debut in LA, the new 28-foot tall Jeep Mountain with a 40-degree incline/decline tested each vehicle’s climbing ability and hill descent control, while the off-camber bridge showcased suspension and ground clearance.
The immersive Camp Jeep experience coupled with our elite team of drivers gave Auto Show attendees a deeper appreciation for Jeep’s off-road heritage and innovative technology. For many participants, the adrenaline-pumping ride marked their first time experiencing the full potential of a Jeep vehicle’s capabilities in a controlled yet exciting environment.
As our team put the final touches on the Camp Jeep course outside the main entrance of Javits Center, the excitement began to set in. This year we celebrated our 20th anniversary of sharing the Camp Jeep Experience with the guests of the New York International Auto Show.
We’ve had 20 years of thrill rides along 11th Ave on the west side of Manhattan. 20 years of being exposed to the elements. This year was no different. Wind, rain, sleet, you name it. The team adapted and continued to provide a memorable experience for our guests.
Little did we know Mother Nature had an anniversary surprise for us. At 10:20 AM on April 5th, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck the NYC region. It was the largest seen in the last century but resulted in no damage and everyone remained safe.
Despite the challenges posed, some unprecedented, Gordinier Group delivered some impressive metrics for the show.
- Over 31,000 passengers
- Over 12,000 safe laps of a challenging course
- Countless smiles
And to quote some of our guests:
- “I missed the Jeep track at the Philly Auto show, so I made my way to NY when I saw that Jeep was here. This track has become an annual thing for our family, and we are so happy we were able to do it this year.”
- “Thank you for being the best thing at the auto show again and again, no one has topped this ride yet.”
- “Glad to see Jeep at the show this year, I bought my 2023 Gladiator last year after riding on this track.”
- “We love the vibe at Jeep. Always a great time.”
We can’t wait to see what the next 20 years have in store! Thank you, NYC!
The die-hard fans of the Chicago Auto Show missed it dearly during its regular slotted time in February, so when it returned in July 2021 attendees showed up in masses. Gordinier Group drivers were happy to get back to what they love, and consumers lined up for the adventure ride at Camp Jeep.
As always, the Jeep brand had plenty of their off-road vehicles to showcase ground clearance, stability, maneuverability, suspension, articulation and traction capabilities on the popular course.
All the buzz is around the new 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Hemi and the 2021 Wrangler 4xe hybrid.
