March 29-April 7, 2013
Another great NYIAS for Jeep this year! 2013 marked the 10th consecutive year for Camp Jeep in NYC.
Not only did the CJ track record it’s busiest NYIAS in history, but Jeep excitedly unveiled the 2014 Cherokee to an enthusiastic crowd of international media!
.
I think that it is safe to say that the uneasy feelings about the aesthetics and capability of this vehicle were put to rest once people were able to see it in person.
.
The Trail-Rated Trailhawk model attracted a lot of attention from the Gordinier Group drivers, as they are already anticipating it’s presence on the CJ track in the fall. With it’s new 9-speed transmission, rear locker, additional inch of lift, and 56:1 crawl ratio, it will be more capable off-road than the Liberty, which was held in high regard by our drivers.
.
Jim Morrison, Director of Marketing for the Jeep Brand, was on hand in New York to introduce the new vehicle. He was gracious enough to spend time with our team, giving a deep dive into the design and features of the new Cherokee.
.
Our group hung on every word – hard to imagine a more passionate leader. Many thanks to Mr. Morrison for taking time out of his hectic schedule!
.
On the track, we were fortunate to have both the new 2014 Grand Cherokee as well as the new 10th Anniversary Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The 10A Rubicon hadn’t hit the showroom floor yet and guests in the know were very excited to get the first opportunity to check them out.
.
Jeep added a few goodies to it’s most-capable off-road vehicle. Among several aesthetic changes, the 10A package also added AEV steel bumpers (front bumper is hitch-ready and has removable end caps), larger BFG KM2 tires, and an extra .5 inches of lift. Great vehicle!
